Boxhagener Platz or “Boxy” as it’s affectionately known locally is a square located one block from Simon-Dach-Straße in Friedrichshain. The square is very popular in the spring and summer when the sun finally shines through the clouds. There is also a fenced playground for children to play in.
A weekly flea market (Flohmarkt) appears on Sundays where you can find books, records, and other second hand things. During the week, you may see food vendors selling their fruits and vegetables in the square. The flea market at Boxhagener is one of the most popular ones in Berlin and although it’s getting harder and harder to find a great deal, it’s still worth looking.
