The East Side Gallery is an outdoor open air gallery consisting of 105 paintings by artists from all over the world. The famous murals were painted in 1990 on the east side of the Berlin Wall. The paintings on the wall document an important time of change for Germans and is one of the most popular attractions in Berlin.
The gallery is about 1.3 kilometers long and if you visit at the right time, you can have most of it to yourself! Visitors tend to hang around a few of the more popular murals and ignore the rest.
Located between Ostbahnhof and Warschauer Straße. If you arrive at one of these stations, you can walk to the other and enjoy the paintings as you go. We recommend spending an hour or so at this location.
