The memorial for the Murdered Jews of Europe (also known as the Holocaust Memorial) is a large, outdoor memorial located in the Berlin district of Mitte. dedicated to the people who were murdered during the Holocaust.
The Holocaust Memorial consists of over 2700 concrete slabs that are arranged in a grid pattern. Walking through the memorial is meant to give visitors an uneasy feel due to of the varying heights of the blocks.
Also included on the grounds is a visitor center which holds the names of approximately 3 million Jewish Holocaust victims.
Please note: This is a memorial and as such, children should refrain from running through it, playing or otherwise being loud.
